Coffee Growers Ravi

Coffee growers in our state of Hassan, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu districts have been hit hard in the recent past. Especially since the arrival of Kovid-19, the hardship continues to increase day by day

New Delhi : Coffee growers are in dire straits due to various reasons.

BJP General Secretary Ravi Coffee growers have urged Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to instruct nationalized banks to waive interest on nationalized banks. They have responded positively.

Coffee and other agriculture loans cannot be repaid at the interest rate, as the low interest rates allow for the revival of the coffee industry and coffee growers who are suffering from economic hardship. In this backdrop, his leadership delegation has demanded that the interest rate on coffee and other agriculture gross loans be fixed at 3 per cent, which the minister has openly accepted.

Coffee has responded positively to the exclusion of debt from the Surface Act (Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Asset and Enforcement of Security Interest). He has also requested the Finance Minister to exempt all forms of credit related to the coffee industry from the Sarfasi Act, which is now the norm for the coffee industry.

Coffee growers have been undergoing a natural disaster for the past three years. More and more, hilltops, gardening equipment, plants are spoiling. He is also suffering from an infectious disease, Kovid. All are requested to come to the aid of coffee growers. Coffee prices have fallen dramatically in recent years. Nirmala Sitharaman has accepted an open mind to respond to the problems of growers.

Coffee growers in our state of Hassan, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu districts have been hit hard in the recent past. Especially since the arrival of Kovid-19, the hardship continues to increase day by day. Coffee plantations are disappearing from day to day due to the extreme rain and weather conditions in the beautiful countryside. At first, the central government successfully managed to reverse the epidemic, Corona, and the central government was thanked for its excellent management.

Many nationalized banks and other commercial bank branches have been reluctant to renew the grower's credit accounts, despite clear indications of restructuring of agricultural credit issued by the Reserve Bank of India in the wake of the natural disaster. He also urged that banks should be given proper direction in this regard.

In order to increase coffee production, coffee research firms must prioritize the use of new technology to effectively work. Coffee Research Institutions have been asked to recommend amendments to the control of the Arabica coffee whitening disorder. The Central Government should not abolish the Coffee Board for any reason. The minister promised to include in the next budget when he requested the appointment of a special package with the appointment of Agriculture Department officials as a nodal officer for coffee. He added that the current National Disaster Management Fund (CFA) compensation for coffee growers in the event of a natural disaster is minimal and the demand for compensation for the loss has been put forward by Union Trade Minister Piyush.
