NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has made it clear that school authorities are free to take action for non-payment of fees from parents in due course.
Referring to the ruling dated May 20, the bench of Justices PM Khansilkar and CT Ravikumar appealed for the schools' application that parents and guardians have not yet been paid and have failed to repay the installment payment.
The school administration is free to take legal action to file pending dues. At the same time, schoolchildren are free to consider such an appeal sympathetically if concerned parents and guardians really want to be exempt. The court said there was no need to say more.
The Supreme Court has made it clear that parents can be sued for payment of the fee even if the installment deadline expires.
