Chennai 13: BJP has repeatedly failed to secure its dominance in Tamil Nadu politics. Many candidates, including Annamalai, lost in the last election.
For example, a BJP candidate who contested the local body elections in Tamil Nadu lost only one vote and lost. His family, despite their members, lost by a single vote
Karthik, who contested from the BJP for the 9th Ward of the Palyam Panchayat constituency, has won only one vote, most notably his wife and 6 others.
Out of 1,551 votes, 991 votes were cast. Among them, DMK's Anurag 387 and non-party candidate Jayaraj voted 240. Vaithiyalingam 198 votes and 3 votes were rejected. The Congress candidate got 84 votes, while Karthik, who contested from the WBJP, got 1 vote. Karthik is also the vice-president of BJP Yuva Morcha in Coimbatore district.
