Six people have died in the Kokkayar landslide in Idukki district. A child is lost. Two persons have been killed in rain-related incidents in Kokkayar and Peruvananthanam villages.Thiruvananthapuram: The death toll in the southern and central parts of the state has risen to 35 in the past few days. They include 9 children.
The Indian Meteorological Department has said that further torrential rains will pour across the state from Wednesday. Thirteen people have died in Kottayam district and 13 of them are from Koottikkal panchayat. At least 10 people have been killed in the landslide that occurred on Saturday. The bodies of those trapped under earthy debris have been extracted from the landslide. Another man washed away in flood waters in Koovapalli district.

Increase of inflow
The water level at the Idamalayar Dam, Kerala's second largest reservoir, has reached 165.30 m, a Blue Alert alert issued at 7am said. The entire reservoir level is 169 m and the maximum level is set at 166.80 m as per the above rule. The Orange Alert Warning is currently being issued as the water level reaches 165.8 m. Red Alert will be announced if this amount increases to 166.3m. Further, the dam has an input rate of 0.8 MCM per hour, with 0.023 MCM of water used per hour to generate electricity.
